Hi,

My name is Kevin Sorensen and I'm from Denmark. I set up this website because of Ola Falck, who most of you know. In my opinion a website is better than a Google or Yahoo Group as we can control ourselves what the site can do.

Why am I in China?

I'm in China because of my wife. My wife is Chinese and I met her on the internet by accident. I met her in a penpal forum and all I wanted was to know where a picture was taken, and now we're married :-)

I decided to quit my job at Dell in Sweden because I was convinced that it was easier for me to find a job and adjust to China, than for my wife to adjust to Sweden. As many of you know, the Chinese family ties are very strong, far stronger than in Western countries.

Initially, when arriving in 2005, I started working for a language school here in Shanghai, and it went pretty well. It's pretty difficult though as the students here expect the teacher to give them all the questions and answers on a silver platter. I had my own style and it obviously worked pretty well as I quickly became a preferred teacher.

In 2006 my wife and I decided to setup a small IT Services Company so that I could focus on something I liked and that I've been doing for almost 20 years. In the beginning it was pretty stressful, mostly because it's difficult to find clients here. Over time things got better and we already have a few corporate clients and lots of private clients. The challenges have been a lot of fun and one of my favourite things is to fight China Telecom on behalf of my clients. One of my most important tasks working with corporate clients if consulting, which includes setup and monitoring of their employees. It also includes filtering access to the internet and monitoring such as well.

Do I like China?

Well, it's difficult to say. Many things here are different and I will probably never get fully used to it. Hopefully China will start turning towards quality and service. I did have a few battles, all of them won, even though it was large corporations like; Samsung (Korea), IKEA (Sweden), Vifa Sound Systems (Denmark), Suning (China) just to mention a few. It was a struggle here, but once contacting the right people overseas, heads started rolling.
